My Favourite Photo

This is one of my favourite photos from all.  I choose this photo because it shows character, you can fully tell what scene this is, this photo shows a lot, including the sketch with the girl.  The lighting hit the right spot and the hand gesture and the pencil, along with the filter, it turned out really significant!  The text that was used brought out the picture, with the fonts this photo represents a lot for the book, when David and Sean were with the 3 girls, David pulled out his sketchbook and started to draw one of them.  But this photo was very appealing to me.

Ted Talk Video

For the Blogging Task 2 I have looked through some good TED talk videos and found one of the most common issues every human has.

1.)

Here's the link to the video:
 https://www.ted.com/talks/yassmin_abdel_magied_what_does_my_headscarf_mean_to_you

2.)  So the author of this presentation is Yassim Abdel-Magied.  She is a speaker, she wears a headscarf for which she calls a Hijab.  She works as a mechanical engineer, she's an inspiring writer,  and as said in her bio, she's activist who campaigns for tolerance and diversity.  She was born in Sudan, after she moved to Australia when she was 2 years old.  From there she was trained as a mechanical engineer.  She was even named the 2015 Queensland Australian Muslim of the Year. She inspires many youths and women.

3.)  I choose this video because I think it teaches us and makes us realize 2 different perspectives.  One is  what we think, the other is what they think.  We judge people based on their looks, what they do or their personalities, but they don't bother to know that person.  This video made me realize a huge difference,  Yassim changed peoples thoughts.  Not by judging or infer and right away tell how that person is without even knowing that person. It's how we can make a better community, a good civilization.  I'm pretty sure a lot of people in class would relate and have this topic running through their minds because this is common.  As also said in her bio "Yassim Challenges us us to look beyond our initial perceptions, and to open doors to new ways of supporting others."  which is why this opens peoples eyes, to realize  what their missing out.

My Journal Prompt

My favorite Journal prompt was based on the quote we did in class
"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."  I found it very relatable to the world.  I wrote a lot about it, it was amusing to me, and I got to share some deep-rooted thoughts on what I really think.   I would say I think it's one of the best ones I did.   Describing the difference between Mediocre Minds and Great Spirits, choosing whether or not I'm a Mediocre or a Great Spirit, and explaining why I agree on this quote. This quote has an affect on me showing reality, and the real world which is why I really liked it.
